I attended a phenomenal training last weekend covering Early Childhood Trauma Interventions (as an add-on OR stand alone supplemental therapy to EMDR). The core hypothesis is that every adult issue (addiction, anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, personality disorders, identity disorders, emotional dysregulation, and trauma) are all connected to attachment disorders, which result when a newborn/infant does not develop a secure attachment with one of both parents.
This therapy seeks to assist adults with working through traumas related to insecure attachment prior to the time frame when explicit memory and language has developed. It works within the Window of Tolerance, which means clients don’t get dysregulated, and it addresses the period of time from conception through ages 3 or 4. Amazingly, it provides an experience of secure attachment, helping people to develop that felt sense of belonging, acceptance, esteem, and worthiness.
If it’s been a while since you’ve been in for therapy, or you know you have some attachment issues impacting your present day relationships, or you identify with any of the issues listed above, and would like guidance going back and resolving, feel free to call and schedule an appointment!
Over the next few months, I will be recording some audios for y’all to use at home as well, tools such as The Container, and Safe State.
